STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. – Naumkeag in Stockbridge is back with a bigger and brighter display of lights.

What You Need To Know

  • Naumkeag is displaying their anual Winter Lights

  • This is the sixth year

  • Over 1 million lights are put out this year

  • People are able to enjoy through Jan. 4

Naumkeag lights the display every starting after Thanksgiving until the first Saturday in January.

“This is our sixth year, and we have now crossed over a million lights, which is a big milestone for us. And we really try to bring back some of the elements that people have grown to love year over year,” said Brian Cruey, the regional vice president of the trustees for the Western Hills and Berkshire region.

Some of the elements returning this year are a rainbow road, glacier garden and the disco New Year garden. But they also have new elements and switch everything around to keep repeat guests coming back for a new display each year.

“It’s about a mile long trail through the designed landscape here at Naumkeag, which is this beautiful garden that you know you’ll get to experience with great views of monument mountain here in the background as you can see,” Cruey said.

With over 1 million lights, setting up the event takes time, right after their incredible pumpkin show volunteers and employees get right to work for winter lights.

“Right after Halloween, we start taking all of that down and we’ve got three very busy weeks for about 20 people including full-time staff, volunteers, staff from across the state of Massachusetts at the Trustees, all kind of descend on Naumkeag and help us get this up on a really quick timeline,” said Cruey.

Winter Lights runs until Jan. 4. The show starts at 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
