WORCESTER, Mass. — A man Worcester police identified as a person of interest in the deadly stabbing of two women is in custody.

Police confirm officers in New York City arrested William Rodriguez, 59, on Thursday.

Police say he had been on the run since Saturday, after officers were called to a Webster Square apartment and found two female victims who were pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.

Rodriguez had previously served time in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the stabbing death of his wife in 2004. He was released in 2019.
