SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Secretary William Galvin was in Springfield Wednesday morning letting people know in-person early voting for the state primaries will begin this Saturday.

All cities and towns in the commonwealth will have weekend hours available for voters to place their ballots.

Galvin said there is still time for people who want to register to vote by mail.

Galvin said he expects a record turnout of Massachusetts voters heading into November's election.

"We not only have a very tense presidential election, but we also have five major ballot questions that affect people's lives," Galvin said. "And they'll be a lot of advertising, a lot of awareness for that. And we will have congressional races here in Western Mass. For instance, we have two. We have both Congressman McGovern and Congressman Neal who are being challenged by independent candidates. So there's going to be a race."

The in-person early voting process will continue through Friday, Aug. 30.
