WORCESTER, Mass. — A drive through downtown Worcester, and it's hard to miss the Glass Tower at 446 Main Street. The building is a mainstay downtown, and now, you can go to the top.
"We've newly renovated two floors of event spaces with over 10,000 square feet of space for people to hold events," said Amy LeBlanc, the site's manager.
Real estate firm Synergy is celebrating the launch of 'Top of the Tower,' a new event space at the top of the 24-story structure. The space is catered to weddings, parties, and conferences, and offers a full 360-degree aerial view of the city.
"It is the 50Th Anniversary of the glass tower this year," said LeBlanc. "So, the reopening of this space is really kind of like the crown on Worcester's jewel."
Employers like Unum have left the area, businesses like Woosta Pizza have recently closed their doors, and buildings like the Denholm are set for redevelopment. 'Top of the Tower' hopes to be a catalyst to bring more people downtown.
"I think that it just gives us a vantage point to really take it all in, get people back together and hold events after COVID, shut most things down," said LeBlanc. "Yeah, it's just spectacular."
The space will start out by hosting events, but the idea of hosting gatherings for the public hasn't been completely ruled out.
