Kids Spectrum News 1 caught up with Wednesday were happy to have a place to keep cool like at the Szot Park splash pad.
"Bathing suit. Yeah!" said 3-year-old Greyson Laskowski.
"Hot," said Josiah Rodriguez. "But usually we come to places like water parks and spray parks like this one to cool off."
With a food truck right next to the splash pads, 3-year old Grey Laskowski is making the best of this heat, having a fun day with a friend.
Ray Ash Memorial Park is another area in Chicopee where some families spent the afternoon trying to cool off. 7-year old Frankie Burbee said when the weather gets warm, there's one sure fire way to handle it.
"By going in the pool," Burbee said.
The rest of the week is also expected to come with hot temperatures. Some of these kids said they're already making plans for how they will stay hydrated the rest of the week.
"We're probably gonna go to a pond or lake," Rodriguez said. "And go on a boat ride and get in the river and get a little swim in."
