- The project is being put together by international artist Eta Cru who goes by "Bezt"
- "Bezt" is is from Poland and lives there as well
- He uses brushes and rollers as his tools and likes to produce figurative art, mainly around child memories and everyday life
The polish artist travels throughout the world creating murals. Using brushes and rollers as his tools, he'll tell you he likes to produce figurative art, mainly around child memories and everyday life.
"So I don't want to tell the story behind it, because I don't like to tell the story behind it," Bezt said of his Chicopee mural. "I like to leave it to the viewer, but as you can see, I mean, it's a big dog on the wall. It's a portrait of a dog, but like the story, you have to find your own story."
One thing that Bezt doesn't mind sharing is his Polish descent. Around 15% of Chicopee's population is Polish, and Bezt said the connections he's made with the city during his art project have been a great experience.
"It's cool," Bezt said. "They're like Polish people visiting me everyday and somebody new comes and he and she says, 'I'm from Poland as well and I have a family in Poland,' so that's really really cool."
Nearby residents said they're very excited to see a place in the city come alive with the art project.
"I think it's amazing," said Chicopee resident Jahleel Gabriel. "I was circling around from the corner and I saw it and I was like, 'that's a really nice mural right there.' So he's doing a great job. A really great job."
It's a role that Bezt said is very special for him as well.
"It's a really nice experience to be able to go and do your stuff," Bezt said. "Because this is my stuff nobody tells me do, this is my idea. This is what I wanted to show to the people, what I wanted to have the people to have it here, and it' a really cool experience and a really nice life actually to be able to do that."
Bezt said the mural project will be finished in a next couple of days.
