WORCESTER, Mass. - Although it doesn't feel like baseball weather, the Worcester Red Sox are hard at work preparing for their third season at Polar Park.

Executive Vice President Dan Rea said preparations for the upcoming season ramped up after New Year's. The WooSox were one of the top minor league teams in the country in attendance in 2022, and Rea said early indications show it should be another big year for the team in 2023.

"Pre-sale numbers this offseason actually have actually outpaced last offseason's pre-sale numbers, so that to us is a good indication," Rea said. "Now, granted, that's only a small percentage of the overall tickets that you will sell, but to us, the fact that some of the early mini-plans have been really strong, season ticket renewals are really strong, those are good early indicators that there's a lot of interest, a lot of eagerness. I think people want to see baseball back here when it's a little warmer and the snow's off the ground."

The WooSox open their season at Polar Park on March 31 against the Syracuse Mets. First pitch is set for 4:05 p.m.
