SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Gov.-elect Maura Healey and Lt. Gov.-elect Kim Driscoll participated in a toy drive in Springfield to kick off "Team Up Massachusetts" regional inaugural events.
The incoming administration visited the New North Citizens Council Youth Center.
The organization provides public and human services to families across Hampden County co-hosted a holiday gift drive, donating hundreds of toys to families.
Healey said supporting Central and Western Massachusetts will be a big priority, saying she started her campaign for attorney general in Western Massachusetts so serving the community means a lot to her.
"We're talking North Berkshire, Southern Berkshire, Hampden County, Franklin County, Hampshire County," said Healey. "Each region is unique and each region is special and we're gonna be an administration that is looking to find ways to deliver for everyone across the state in partnership with all of you."
Healey and Driscoll will take the oath of office on Thursday.
Healey said some of their goals include making Massachusetts an affordable state for residents and small business owners.
