AGAWAM, Mass. - Six Flags New England is bringing back their annual 'Fright Fest' Halloween celebration this month.

"This is the spookiest time of year here at Six Flags," communications manager Jennifer McGrath said. "We have over 100 zombies and ghouls that roam our streets. We're the largest Halloween event in New England and dare I say the scariest."

Six Flags New England has been hosting its annual Halloween-themed 'Fright Fest' for decades. This year, McGrath​ said the theme park is scaring more people with spooky clowns, ghouls and people with chainsaws roaming around their brand new scare zone exhibits.

"So he's apart of ScreamPunk and this our brand new haunt zone that we have this year which is really scary," McGrath said. "And we have so many new things this year like 'Holiday Horror.' We have new food items, new drinks and when it plans to planning scare, we worked all year long for this time of year."

There are plenty of rides, like 'Harley Quinn,' lit up special to add a little thrill to the night.​ People can also enjoy some of the park's classic haunted houses, as well as a 'Midnight Uprising' dance performance.​

McGrath​ said Halloween is a special time of year in New England. She said it's a great opportunity for the amusement park to share the holiday with the community.

"I don't think there's any better place to celebrate Halloween than New England," McGrath said. "But for us, this is a magical time of year where we take our thrills of 100 world class rides and amp them up with scare and fright."

Fright Fest is open weekend nights and runs until Sunday, November 6.
