In partnership with the Worcester Historical Museum, Spectrum News 1 presents Worcester's Tercentennial, highlighting the city's most influential citizens in its 300-year history.
The Worcester Historical Museum recently acquired a dress that’s hundreds of years old.
The dress was likely worn by Faith Savage Waldo, whose portrait is hung at WHM, a reproduction from the collection of the Worcester Art Museum.
Savage Waldo was married to Cornelius Waldo III and he was an early Worcester proprietor. Faith Peck Waldo who was Faith Savage's mother in law owned a shop in Boston, selling fine fabrics. The Spitalfield Silk from Savage Waldo’s dress could have been sold at that shop.
