MAINE - A man from Auburn, Mass. was killed in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on I-95 northbound in Wells, Maine late Thursday night.

According to Maine State Police, around 11:09 p.m. on Thursday, troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer and a car on I-95.

The initial investigation reveals a BMW, driven by Brian N. Anger, 52, of Auburn, pulled out directly in front of a tractor-trailer attempting to use the crossover. The driver of the tractor-trailer, 24-year-old Sahib Singh of Fresno, Cali., was unable to avoid Anger and crashed into the driver's side of the car. 

It is currently unknown why Anger tried to use the crossover. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The crash remains under investigation.

Singh was transported to Maine Medical Center with minor injuries.
