WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester Red Sox have released results from a Polar Park parking and traffic fan survey published earlier this month.
The purpose of the survey was to gather feedback from fans who had been in attendance during the team's early homestands.
The team received feedback from nearly 1,500 fans. According to the data, most people who attended their games in the first month of the season are from the Central Massachusetts area and are driving to the ballpark instead of using public transportation or ride-share services.
Nearly 92% of respondents said they traveled by car to games and almost a third parked at the Madison Place parking lot behind the stadium.
Roughly 75% of fans paid for parking on game days and say it was about a five to 10 minute walk to the ballpark from their parking spot.
On a scale of 1 to 5 (1=poor experience, 5=great experience), 35% of the respondents ranked their travel and parking experience as a “5,” meaning they had a great experience.
