WORCESTER, Mass. - A Worcester high school teacher hopes an important message can be learned from his newly published children's book.

Kevin Cox is a physics teacher at Burncoat High school.  His book Andy the Anchor is about a boat anchor on his first voyage to sea.

“Andy” is having a hard time understanding where he fits in, and the moral of the book is understanding there is a purpose and place for everyone.

Cox says although it's a children's book, anyone can learn from it. In fact, he was inspired by some of his students.

Cox said, “It was sort of a tribute to those that, you know, don't sweat it just yet, your purpose will reveal itself to you. You just have to show up. It's sort of a rhyming homage to them and basically saying '’Hey, look, just continue on pushing, trying to be the best person you can be.'"

Andy the Anchor was released on Tuesday and is available for sale on Amazon.com
