WORCESTER, Mass. - Two Worcester men were arrested Tuesday night after police officers responded to South Plaza on Grafton St.

According to the Worcester Police Department, officers were dispatched to the plaza for a report of loud music. Police say this has been a regular problem at the plaza this year and officers have been called to the area many times.

Several vehicles were gathered in the plaza's parking lot. When officers arrived, operators of the vehicles started to leave. Officers approached the driver of an Acura sedan parked near two "No Trespassing" signs next to a closed business.

Two people were in the vehicle -- 25-year-old Armando Cruz of Great Brook Valley Dr. and 26-year-old Ezequiel Rivera of Oxford St.

Police discovered Cruz didn't have a driver's license, the vehicle was uninsured and the registration was revoked. A knife was found in the center console. A search of the vehicle also revealed a machete and loaded handgun behind the front passenger's seat.

Both Cruz and Rivera did not have a license to carry firearms and were placed under arrest. They are charged with Trespass, Possession of a Firearm without a License, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card. They will be arraigned in court.
