WORCESTER - City Manager Ed Augustus announced on Sunday evening that the City of Worcester has declared a State of Emergency.

Augustus revealed that the city has a second presumptive positive case of the coronavirus.

However, one of the five previously reported individuals being tested in the city tested negative. The other four are still awaiting results.

Additionally, City-owned playgrounds are now closed and a maximum of 25 people are allowed in attendance at City-sponsored events.

Mayor Joe Petty announced that the public can't attend City Council, School Committee or subcommittee meetings for the foreseeable future.

The City will be hosting a press conference every day at 5 PM to update the city's status regarding the coronavirus.
