DUDLEY - Two Dudley residents appeared in Dudley District Court on Wednesday morning after being arrested earlier in the morning on multiple charges, including armed robbery, kidnapping and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Police arrested Jessie Thibodeau, 44, and Nichole Murphy, 31, both of 2 Green St., shortly after 1 AM after an investigation into the kidnapping of a Webster woman.
According to the Dudley PD, around 8 PM on Tuesday, the victim entered the Webster Police Department and reported that she had been held against her will inside of her vehicle by a male and female while she was parked in the Dollar General Store on Main St. in Dudley.
The victim told police that the suspects - later identified as Thibodeau and Murphy - told her they were homeless. Thibodeau told the victim that he had a gun and that he was holding it to the back of her head. They demanded cash and forced her to drive around for one hour until they made her stop at The Wash Tub Laundromat on Oxford Ave. in Dudley.
Thibodeau and Murphy exited the vehicle and took the victim's license, cell phone and $20 in cash.
When Dudley police responded to the incident, they reviewed surveillance footage were able to identify Thibodeau. A second person also reported the pair had approached their vehicle in a similar fashion to the female victim's encounter.
Webster Police Officers were called to assist with this investigation.
The police followed fresh footprints from the laundromat to the residence at 2 Green St. Police were granted a search warrant for the address. Thibodeau and Murhpy were taken into custody and evidence was recovered without incident.
