Last month, Spectrum News told you about Worcester City Councilors wanting to see new life given to the pedestrian bridge over Belmont Street, and now, the city is stepping in.

While it's safe, it needs to be cleaned. The city will remove graffiti, rust stains and mold build up by power washing.

Work will be done in overnight hours to limit disruption to traffic.

The city is also working with the Cultural Development Division to consider including a mural or special lighting.

There will be an evaluation of minor structural deficiencies once all is done, to determine the extent and cost of any repairs.
