We are getting closer to a new month of the 2021 hurricane season. Focusing on October, some tropical system patterns are likely to shift from how they were in September.
October sees a small decrease in tropical activity as the peak season time has already passed. The region with the most likely chances for development is within the Caribbean and the further open waters of the eastern U.S. coastlines.
This region harbors more tropical development because trade winds and currents deliver the warmer water further toward the east, allowing a more conducive environment for tropical systems.
Most systems track towards the northeast, with it likely that many stay off the eastern coastlines. However, there have been landfalling systems in past October months.
