Although the month of November started out cool, we quickly climbed into record territory by the second week of the month.

What You Need To Know

  • Temperatures were 15 to 20 degrees above normal for several days across the Commonwealth.

  • Record-high temperatures were broken in many cities over multiple days

  • We will not likely see that kind of warmth again until spring of 2021

If you are a fan of autumn, you probably didn’t love the warm stretch of weather we had into the second week of this month. Several records were tied or broken in multiple cities across the Commonwealth on November 8th, 9th and 10th.

On Sunday, November 8th, records were broken at multiple locations around the state, as you can see below.

While we didn’t quite make it to the record in Bowling Green, we did manage to tie it that afternoon.

On Monday, November 9th, we managed to break the record high in Louisville, Lexington, Covington and Bowling Green. The record in Bowling Green had stood since 1890!

On Tuesday, November 10th, records were broken in Louisville, Lexington, and Covington, but Bowling Green fell a couple of degrees shy of the record.

The warm stretch was nice while it lasted, but you'll have to travel south if you want to see highs near 80 again anytime soon. We won't likely see them around the Commonwealth again until spring of 2021.
