FRANKFORT, Ky. - Four Roses Distillery celebrates the completion of a $55 million expansion that will double its production capacity at the Lawrenceburg, Kentucky distillery.
The Four Roses brand is 131 years old, but it only returned to bars and liquor stores as a straight bourbon in 2002 after Japanese-based Kirin Brewery Company bought Four Roses. A previous owner tunred Four Roses into a blended whiskey. Since the reintroduction of Four Roses, it can now be found in all 50 states and dozens of foreign markets. However, demand has been greater than the supply. The expansion will help and the distiller says the majority of the expanded volumen will be made for the United States.
