LOS ANGELES — Under a twilight sky and beneath a brand-new championship banner, the Los Angeles Dodgers opened their 2025 home campaign the way they ended last season — with a win.

Newcomer Blake Snell earned the victory in his first start for LA, while Teoscar Hernández delivered a decisive three-run homer in a 5-4 comeback over the Detroit Tigers Thursday night at Dodger Stadium.

Snell, the Dodgers’ marquee offseason addition, battled through five innings, allowing two runs on five hits. The left-hander struck out two and walked four in a no-decision that turned into a win when the Dodgers’ bats came alive late.

Shohei Ohtani continued to build momentum early in his first season with LA, launching his second home run of the year and scoring twice. Tommy Edman added a solo shot, and the Dodgers’ bullpen held firm in the final innings.
