While one cheerleader, Osa Cameron, may appear out of sync with other members as she has Down syndrome, it hasn't stopped her from pursuing her passion.

Osa's grandfather, Frank Cameron, said being on the cheer team has always been a dream of Osa’s, and its members welcomed her with open arms.

“Is she perfect at it? No. Is she trying? Yes," Frank said. "They pull her along; they help correct her (and) get her in the right position.”

For this team, it's not about perfection, but everyone trying their best.

Osa’s peer tutor, Audrey Hurt, said Osa puts a lot of energy into her work, both in the classroom and on the court.

“When she was cheerleading, she kept looking back at me because I did winter sports as well," Hurt said. "I took a video, and she kept making sure she was being perfect. She was really good at cheerleading, and I was super impressed.”

Even though Osa is a cheerleader, she has many others who are cheering her on.

“We're just so blessed to for her to get this experience here and wouldn't give it up for anything," Frank said.

Cameron said Osa is forever changed through the power of unity, resilience and the cheerleading spirit. Her family said it can't wait for the season to come back around.
