LOUISVILLE, Ky. — We are a little more than 300 days from Kentucky Derby 148 and nothing makes that more official than the release of the official Derby logo.

Churchill Downs unveiled the new logo which features the iconic Twin Spires and includes the date of next year's race — May 7, 2022.

MogoSME, an agency specializing in identity development, created this year's logo as well as The Derby and Oaks logos for the past 14 years.

This year's design pays homage to one of the most revered landmarks in all of sport, with the silhouette of the Twin Spires being featured.

This logo will be used on all official Kentucky Derby merchandise including glasses, apparel, jewelry and other items.

Fans can find merchandise online, at Churchill Downs Racetrack, the Kentucky Derby Museum, Louisville International Airport and other retailers beginning this summer.

The logo for Oaks 148 hasn't been released yet.

MogoSME, a Learfield IMG College company, is based in New York and has worked with some of the top names in sports and entertainment.  Some of its clients include Major League Baseball Players Association, Minnesota Wild, U.S. Youth Soccer, New York Racing Association, Atlanta Braves and San Francisco Ballet.
