LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Coach Jeff Walz and the No. 5 University of Louisville women's basketball team will play No. 20 DePaul Friday in the Women's Jimmy V Classic at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

ESPN will broadcast the game between the Cardinals and the Blue Demons with tip-off set for 6:30 p.m. ET.

DePaul replaces Connecticut which was originally scheduled for the game. UConn's program is on pause because of COVID-19 protocols. 

DePaul was originally set to play Villanova on Friday, but that game has been postponed and is expected to be rescheduled.

Louisville is 15-17 all-time against DePaul. The pair were once conference rivals when they were in the Big East. The two last met in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on March 20, 2016, when the Cards fell 73-72.

The Women's Jimmy V Classic will also feature No. 8 NC State at No. 1 South Carolina on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

The Jimmy V Classic, named for legendary men's basketball coach Jim Valvano, raises money and awareness for the V Foundation for Cancer Research.  The women's classic first debuted in 2002.
