LOUISVILLE, Ky. — ACC Coach of the Year, Scott Satterfield and the University of Louisville Cardinals will once again have a robust schedule as they try to capitalize on the success of last season. The 2020 schedule was officially released and it includes a pair of opponents that finished in the Top 15 in the national rankings, Clemson and Notre Dame.
The Cards open the season at home with ACC opponent NC State on Thursday, September 3. The Cardinals lead that series 7-3. This is the first time the Cards are opening the season against a conference foe since the 2014 season. The next week, the Cardinals travel to Death Valley where they will face Clemson for the fourth time and will be looking for their first victory against the Tigers.
Murray State and Western Kentucky will visit Cardinal Stadium rounding out the games in September. This will be the first meeting with the Racers since 2017. Louisville beat WKU last season in Nashville 38-21.
The season wraps up with rivalry weekend and the Kentucky Wildcats coming to Cardinal Stadium on November 28.
16 starters are returning to Satterfield's squad — eight on offense and eight on defense — including first-team All-ACC wide receiver Tutu Atwell, who set the school record in receiving yards with 1,276 and second-team all-ACC running back Javian Hawkins..
