LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Blanton Creque, a four-year starter for the University of Louisville football team, is out for the rest of the season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the Cardinals 28-21 victory against Virginia Saturday, October 26.

The Shelbyville, Ky. native tore the ligament when he was attempting a tackle in the game.  He will undergo surgery in the next few weeks.

Creque finished the season with a team-high 57 points. He hit 8-11 field goals and was perfect on extra point attempts going 33 for 33.

Creque finishes his career as the most accurate kicker in Louisville history, connecting on 51 of 62 attempts.  His 51 field goals made are the third most in school history behind Art Carmody (2004-07) with 60 and John Wallace (2012-15) with 66.  He also ends his career with 310 points, also third in school history behind Wallace with 384 and Carmody with 433.

Louisville will next play the Miami Hurricanes November 9 at 3:30 p.m.
