Crews have been working to install 3,000 pieces of Rays art work, clearing out the gift shop to make way for Rays team apparel and merchandise, and installing new premium and group spaces and luxury suites.
But there have also been changes at Steinbrenner Field that fans won’t see, according to Rays Chief Business Officer Bill Walsh.
“We’ve upgraded broadcast cabling, constructed a new umpires compound, expanded the visitors clubhouse, upgraded Wi-Fi connectivity,” Walsh said.
- In order to better prepare fans for weather conditions around Steinbrenner Field, the Rays will launch a webpage for fans to monitor weather before and during their trip to the ballpark. Fans can visit RaysBaseball.com/Weather beginning on Opening Day for more information and to stay up-to-date.
