FRANKFORT, Ky. — Flags at all state office buildings will fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Friday, Nov. 8, as declared by Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Ky.

This is in remembrance of Game Warden William "Tex" Bailey, 24, who died Nov. 1 during training activities. The governor's office said according to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, Bailey had a medical emergency during a training exercise in Barren County. Bailey was pronounced dead at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

"I was saddened to hear of the tragic loss of Game Warden Tex Bailey," Beshear said. "Britainy and I extend our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones, as well as the entire Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources."

Beshear's office said Bailey is from Alabama and attended Eastern Kentucky University, where he earned his bachelor's degree and played football. He began training to become a game warden with the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement Division Oct. 14.

Bailey's memorial service will be held Nov. 8 in Huntsville, Alabama, at Madison Academy, a private school Bailey attended.
