BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The National Corvette Museum is making its final preparations to celebrate its upcoming 30th Anniversary Celebration set for Labor Day weekend.
The museum said in a news release that the event will draw Corvette enthusiasts from around the world to join the celebration from Aug. 28 to Sept. 1.
Plans include the National Corvette Caravan, a tradition that began at the museum’s grand opening in 1994. It will involve thousands of Corvette owners and fans converging at various starting points across the United States and culminate in a final arrival at the museum.
“As the event before the event, the National Corvette Caravan becomes a rolling car show from all points around the country, organized and fueled by some of our biggest supporters,” shared Bryce Burklow, National Corvette Museum interim chief operating officer. “Our 30th Anniversary Celebration marks a significant milestone for the National Corvette Museum and reflects three decades of preserving and celebrating Corvette — America’s Sports Car.”
Checkered flags will replace the flags at the Beautifi-65 welcome sign installations to welcome the Corvette caravan to Warren County on Aug. 28.
The museum also announced Generation Radio will perform as the headlining act for the closing concert on Aug. 31. The band features members from Rascall Flatts, Chicago and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The concert will take place at Circus Square Park, which opens at 5:30 p.m. CT and the first act takes to the stage at 6:30 p.m. CT. Generation Radio will perform at 8:30 p.m. CT.
