LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The wildly entertaining exhibition baseball team, the Savannah Bananas will be in Louisville beginning Aug. 1. In celebrate the team’s arrival in the home of the Louisville Slugger, the Slugger Museum and Factory are presenting a temporary exhibit dedicated to the Bananas.

  • The traveling exhibition team is playing at Slugger Field on Aug. 1-3

  • The exhibit will also showcase their opponent, the Party Animals

  • A Louisville exclusive t-shirt is on sale now at the Museum and it will be open an hour longer during the Bananas visit

The temporary exhibit will showcase not only memorabilia from the Savannah Bananas but also the team they are playing while in the city, the Party Animals.

“We are thrilled to host the Savannah Bananas exhibit and welcome their fans to the museum,” said Deana Lockman, Executive Director. “We can’t wait to see the energy and excitement their fans will bring to the museum.”

Visitors to the museum will see gloves, knee guards and jerseys from both teams. Fans can also enjoy the Hold a piece of History exhibit which will have a game-used bat swung by DR Meadows, the back flipping centerfielder.

The museum’s store will offer limited-edition t-shirts made specifically for the Louisville game. The shirts are currently available in the Museum Store.

To help accommodate visitors coming to town specifically to see the Savannah Bananas, the Slugger Museum is extending its hours on Aug. 2 and 3. It will be open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
