FORT KNOX, Ky. — Actor Gary Sinise is coming to Fort Knox and he’s bringing the Lt. Dan Band with him.

Sinise and his band will perform at the Fort Knox Brooks Parade Field on July 27 at 6 p.m.

The event is free for the public, including visitors coming from off post. Attendees coming from off post should enter using the Chaffee Gate, which is the main gate, and follow direction signs to Brooks Parade Field.

The Lt. Dan Band is a cover band founded by Sinise in 2003. They are well known for their performances and the support they give to those in service, including military, veterans, first responders and their families. Named for Sinise’s character in the movie “Forrest Gump,” The Lt. Dan Band likes to boost morale on military bases here in the United States and abroad and it also raises awareness at benefit shows.

Gates for the show open at 5 p.m. and concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets because there will be festival-style seating. Food and beverages will be on sale at the show.
