BlueCloud’s Account Executive Director Vanessa Justice says it’s important for companies to stay up-to-date with their technology and safety resources. BlueCloud is an AI service company. Justice says one of the biggest issues companies face is having too many access points that hackers can use to take personal information.

“I even met with one health system that told me for one report he had to pull from 1,100 different systems, 1,100 different access points,” Justice said.

In 2023, many Kentuckians were informed that their personal information may have been compromised in a ransomware attack on Norton Healthcare.

Millions of people received letter several months after the hospital system discovered the attack.

Justice says data breaches, like what Norton Healthcare saw, can impact industries across the board.

“Talking to a chief information systems officer, or even a CEO Every time I ask them, right before I leave a meeting, I say what keeps you up at night, and they say the amount of data I have, and making sure its kept safe,” Justice said.

After last year’s attack, Norton Healthcare offered two years of credit monitoring for patients who may have been affected through Kroll.
