LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky’s historic Memorial Coliseum has been renovated and because of that all season ticket holders for women’s basketball, volleyball and gymnastics from last season need to select new seats.H

According to UK, the seat selection process for all three sports will run from June 17 through July 26. This is the period reserved for current season ticket holder to get their seats first.

If you didn’t have season tickets last year, fans can reserve their “place in line” for season tickets for the three sports by making a deposit.  

Fans who make a deposit will be contacted in July so they can select their seats. UK says that process will not begin until after the process for current season ticket holders is over.

Previous season ticket holders do not need to pay a deposit.

Fans can see the new seating charts for women’s basketball, volleyball and gymnastics online.

The school plans to send current season ticket holders additional information by email and mail with seat slection appointment times and a step-by-step guide for choosing seats. Appointment times are being assigned in order of K Fund priority ranking as of April 30. 2024.

The renovated Memorial Coliseum will seat roughly 6, 250 fans. UK believes it was important to renovate the facility so it could host conference championships, campus events and programming.

New seating is being installed throughout the Coliseum. UK says there will still be a mix of reserved and general admission areas. The sections on the Lexington Avenue side of the building will have chairbacks and armrests plus cupholders.

Most sections on the Rose Street side will have new bleachers and fans can still bring seat cushions.

UK says the original 1950 building served as a memorial to servicemen and women who died in World War II. It also honors those who died in the Korean War, Vietnam War and others. The school says the renovation project will also have an upgraded memorial.
