LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University’s nurse practitioner programs have been named one of the top 10 best online programs in the U.S., according to Forbes Magazine. The program nabbed the No. 8 spot, standing alongside schools such as Duke University, Villanova University and George Washington University.

In its rankings, Forbes evaluated several Registered Nurse-to-Nurse Practitioner programs across the country. Bellarmine’s nurse practitioner program stood out for a commitment to excellence and innovation in education, according to a news release.

“Bellarmine’s nurse practitioner programs produce graduates who fill a critical role in our region’s healthcare system,” said Dr. Susan M. Donovan, Bellarmine’s president. “The leadership provided by our graduate nursing faculty and their vision to take these programs online is a real testament to the innovation taking place in our Donna and Allan Lansing School of Nursing and Clinical Sciences.” 

Two of the private liberal arts college’s advanced nurse practitioner degrees were recognized by Forbes: the Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner program and the Master of Science in Nursing, Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
