March Madness is finally here and there are three Kentucky men’s basketball programs dancing this year: the University of Kentucky, Morehead State University and Western Kentucky University.

  • The University of Kentucky, Morehead State University and Western Kentucky University all got spots in the 2024 NCAA Men's Tournament

  • UK and MSU will both play Thursday, March 21, with WKU playing on Friday, March 22

  • All games will be televised and streamed online

Who’s playing when?

Morehead State University

MSU will be the first Kentucky program to kick off their March Madness play. The 14-seed Eagles will play 3-seed Illinois on Thursday, March 21 in Omaha, Neb., at 2:10 p.m. CT/3:10 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on TruTV. MSU secured their spot in the tournament after winning the Ohio Valley Conference tournament. They will compete in the East region with the No. 1-seed UConn Huskies.

University of Kentucky

The Wildcats received a 3-seed from the NCAA selection committee. They are slated to play the 14-seed Oakland Golden Grizzlies of Michigan, on Thursday night, March 21, at 7:10 p.m. ET in Pittsburgh. The game will be televised on CBS. UK is competing in the South region with the No. 1-seed Houston Cougars and their longtime arch nemesis Duke Blue Devils, who are a 4-seed.

Western Kentucky University

The WKU Hilltoppers are the Kentucky team to get in on the action and will play on Friday, March 22, at 2 p.m. The 15-seed Hilltoppers face the 2-seed Marquette Golden Eagles in Indianapolis and the game will be televised on TBS. WKU punched their ticket to the Big Dance by winning their first Conference USA tournament ever and they will compete in the South region alongside UK.

How to watch

Every game of the men’s tournament will be aired — here is a schedule that will be updated with matchups — either on CBS, TBS, TNT or TruTV and their digital platforms, including Paramount+. TBS will handle the Final Four and national title game this year.

The NCAA is streaming games via its March Madness Live option.

When does the tournament start?

The First Four is in Dayton, Ohio, and first- and second-round games March 21-24 stretch from New York City to Spokane, Washington.

Sweet 16 weekend will see games March 28-31 in Boston (East Regional), Dallas (South), Detroit (Midwest) and Los Angeles (West).

The Final Four is in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday, April 6, with the championship game the night of Monday, April 8.
