LEXINGTON, Ky. — A new UK HealthCare program will offer the chance to become a nationally registered emergency medical technician (EMT).
According to UK HealthCare, those interested in applying for the 16-week program can do so through UK Jobs. Those accepted will be hired as a STEPS employee for the program's duration, which is the University of Kentucky's full-service temporary staffing agency.
Participants will earn $15 an hour during their scheduled classroom, clinical and ride along instruction, and the cost of educational materials will be covered. Classes will happen Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-8:30 p.m. and one Saturday monthly 8 a.m.-2 p.m. The deadline to apply is Feb. 16.
The program's goal is to get EMTs trained and help them find jobs, UK HealthCare said. Those with questions are encouraged to email email@example.com.
