LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky rebounded in Southeastern Conference play with a resounding win over Mississippi State in Rupp Arena Wednesday night.

The Cats were firing on all cylinders after a tough road loss to Texas A&M on Saturday. Veteran guard Antonio Reeves posted a game-high 27 points as the Wildcats rolled over the Bulldogs 90-77. Freshman Robert Dillingham added 16 points, four rebounds and four assists. Tre Mitchell had 15 points and Aaron Bradshaw added 11 points and six rebounds.

Kentucky trailed 5-2 early before scoring 13 in a row to lead 15-5. Reed Shepperd came off the bench to spark the run, doling out three assists.

Mississippi State responded with back-to-back threes, cutting into the Wildcat lead 15-11. Kentucky came back by scoring 12 of the next 17 points to lead 27-16.

The Cats held onto their commanding lead, ending 47-29 at the half. Reeves came out shooting, leading all scorers with 16 points in the first 20 minutes of play.

The Bulldogs opened the second half with a 14-2 run to cut the UK lead to 49-43. UK came back with a 9-1 run to re-establish a double-digit lead they would hold onto for the rest of the game. Kentucky led by as many as 18 in the second half before finishing 90-77.

“That was a good team that we beat today,” Kentucky head coach John Calipari said. “Every game in this league is like a rock fight. Kids were ready today.”

The Wildcats continue SEC play on Saturday, hosting Georgia at Rupp Arena. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. Mississippi State will host Vanderbilt on Saturday.
