LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It took 12 days, but DHL Express workers at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport have reached a new deal with the company.
The Teamsters, which represent over 1,100 workers at the facility, say it reached a tentative agreement. The labor organization made the announcement on X, formerly Twitter.
Employees went on strike Thursday, Dec. 7 wanting higher workplace safety standards and better pay.
DHL employees in northern Kentucky voted to unionize in April and had been negotiating a new contract since July. The Teamsters is calling the deal a major win for the members.
The new agreement is expected to be presented to employees soon for a ratification vote.
The DHL hub handles hundreds of thousands of pounds of cargo each day.
