LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Churchill Downs has unveiled the official Kentucky Derby 150 mint julep glass. The commemorative glass celebrates the sesquicentennial of the Kentucky Derby, which happens on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

This year’s design for the collectible keepsake is adorned with the classic Kentucky Derby red roses and lists every official Kentucky Derby winner — from Aristides in 1875 to Mage in 2023.

Fan can buy the glass at the Kentucky Derby Store website and at select retailers, including the Kentucky Derby Museum. The official Kentucky Oaks 150 lily glass will be available for purchase Jan. 10. 

Since its inception in 1938, the Kentucky Derby mint julep glass has become a popular collector’s item for Derby attendees and horse racing fans.

Churchill Downs also announced a social media contest where fans can win a trip for two to the 150th Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby. Fans wishing to enter can do so by sharing their “cherished memories that capture the essence of the iconic event” and using the hashtag #MyDerbyMemory on social media platforms X, formerly Twitter and Instagram through Jan. 31, 2024. Besides tickets for Oaks and Derby, the first prize includes a $5,000 travel stipend and hotel accommodations.

“The #MyDerbyMemory contest is an opportunity for fans to share their love for the Derby and be a part of this special celebration. The unveiling of the official Kentucky Derby 150 mint julep glass and the exclusive on-site glass for Oaks and Derby attendees adds a unique touch to this once-in-a-lifetime event,” said Churchill Downs Racetrack President Mike Anderson.
