LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One of the longest running Halloween traditions in Louisville is getting ready to scare up its 30th season.

What You Need To Know

  • Danger Run begins Sept. 28 and runs through Oct. 31

  • The scavenger hunt-type event has been around for 30 years

  • Participants can start the game from their homes and never wait in line

  • The game takes about  two hours to play

Danger Run, a scavenger hunt style game, has participants solve clues to puzzles around the city. Solving the mystery leads them to haunted houses. The search is done from your car and organizers call Danger Run, “the most fun you’ve ever had in your car.”

This year, Danger Run has added two routes beginning and ending either in Kentucky or Indiana, and added different difficulty challenges.

Organizers say one goal of Danger Run is to take participants down roads they didn’t know existed and new this year — country backroads.

Participants can either use the self-service clue portal and begin their adventure from their driveway and begin at any time. Self-service is 24/7 throughout Danger Run and full-service is 7 p.m.-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 21.

Participants wanting to go on the Danger Run can go online and register to play. Organizers say it takes two hours to play the game and information is delivered to your cellphone, letting you begin at home without waiting in a line to start the fun.

Danger Run is fun for all-ages and begins Thursday, Sept. 28 and runs through Halloween. They say the game can be played on any day and at any time participants want to play.
