BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Bath Planet, a business in Bowling Green, donated a ‘bath-full’ worth of school supplies to Warren County Public School’s Synergy Center on Tuesday.

What You Need To Know

  • Warren County Public Schools began their fall semester on Wednesday, Aug. 9

  • The Synergy Center takes donations such as school supplies and food to give to families in need

  • Kids and families can request supplies at their school’s family resource coordinator

  • If you would like to donate, you can contact a family resource coordinator at any school in Warren County

This was Bath Planet’s first donation, and was aimed at helping many families who cannot afford to supply their children with back-to-school gear.

Bath planet donated supplies such as glue, rulers, notebooks, paper, folders and crayons.

This year, retail has seen unprecedented amounts of money pour into back-to-school shopping. According to the National Retail Federation, back-to-school spending is expected to reach an unparalleled $41.5 billion, up from $36.9 billion last year.

Warren County Public Schools will work tirelessly to get the proper supplies to kids who need them.

According to Brielle Freeman, the office manager at Bath Planet, the Synergy Center can find out which schools need certain items.

“They have coordinators from all over the district, so we actually know, who needs what at which school, and that those items are being delivered to those who need them the most,” Freeman said. “Families, students and teachers all around.”

The Synergy Center not only donates school supplies, they also donate food to families in need.

They will load up a box, and donate easy-to-make foods such as rice, macaroni and cheese, and beans.

“We try to keep donations that are easy for kids to access or even things that are easy for kids to cook themselves,” Director of Student Services Kelly Kaiser said. “Like, macaroni and cheese or the individual macaroni and cheese, anything we can send home.”

And to anyone who wants to donate, Kaiser has a message.

“I just want to encourage anybody that can, to get in touch with your school and your family resource coordinator to donate,” Kaiser said. “As we have a variety of needs, and 100% of it goes back to our kids, in our schools and our community.”

Anyone can donate by contacting any of Warren County Public School’s Family Resource Coordinator.
