  • The business re-opened its doors this past week

  • The tornado that hit Bowling Green in 2021 took down over 500 homes as well as 100 businesses

  • Blue Holler Brew is open Tuesday through Sunday

The tornado took down over 500 homes as well as 100 businesses in the area.

When Karraker first received news that his business was destroyed by the tornado, he was sure that his business was done for. However, the residents of Bowling Green stepped in to give him a helping hand.

“A lot of people showed up here and never once thought about what they might be going through,” Karraker said. “They just wanted to help somebody.”

There were around 70 people that showed up to help, Karraker said. He didn’t even have to make a single phone call.

“They all showed up and started doing it for me,” he said. “The whole community just stepped and helped everybody. It was overwhelming. I still get teary-eyed about in now.”

And now, the purpose of his Karraker’s brewing company is to not only fulfill his dreams of owning a business, but to also give back to the community that gave so much to him.

“For the three months before I opened, I was here 14-18 hours a day, 7 days a week,” Karraker said.

“I came and helped paint, pulled the electrical wire, build the new bar, put the trim on the floors. My only goal for my business is to become a staple to the community. People care, they want me back. They want to have a place they can call their own.”
