LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Toll rates to cross three bridges connecting Louisville and Southern Indiana are going up in two weeks. The new rates take place on July 1, 2023.

According to RiverLink, depending on the size of the vehicle and if the driver has a prepaid account, rates will range from $2.52 to $15.09. Toll revenue goes up each year by 2.5% unless the rate of inflation, which is determined by the Consumer Price Index, is higher. The April 2023 CPI used to calculate the increase was 4.9% according to a release from RiverLink.

Revenue from toll bridges is used to pay for the operations and maintenance of the bridges and roadways and to meet the financial obligations of the Ohio River Bridges Project.

Drivers pay tolls on the I-65 Abraham Lincoln Bridge, I-65 Kennedy Bridge and the Lewis and Clark Bridge, which connects Prospect, Ky. and Utica, Indiana.
