Jefferson County's summer meal program provides hot breakfasts and lunches for registered students 18 years of age or younger. JCPS students have to pick up the meals in person and eat them on site, according to the district's website.
Hot meals will be served Monday through Friday from June 5 to July 28 at several JCPS sites. Parents and students can find the closest site on the JCPS Summer Meals web page.
In Fayette County, free summer meals are available for anyone under 18 years old. FCPS said curbside pickup is not available—the child or teen has to pick them up in person and eat them on site.
Service windows for FCPS are June 12–29 Monday through Thursday for breakfast and lunch, and July 5–28 Monday through Friday for lunch only. You can find a detailed schedule of locations here.
FCPS and the Lexington Public Library are co-sponsoring the efforts, but library sites are only serving lunches.
There will be no service at FCPS sites on June 19, July 3 or July 4 due to holidays.
