The work is done by people in Kentucky and Ohio.

Eddie Brown is one of the workers on the job at the Kentucky truck plant in Louisville. He has worked at the plant in Louisville for about 13 years. The way he sees it, he has fun at work.

“Aww shoot, I love it!” Brown said with a smile. “I got a nice team working. They’re all excited.”

Brown is one of thousands of employees that has a hand in assembling Ford’s all-new 2023 F-Series Super Duty that’s shipping to customers right now. He has worked for the company for 32 years. He came on board back in 1991 and has worked with the company ever since.

Brown is a Ford Consumer Product Analyst. With each truck he touches, he checks every single function, feature, switch, knob and key.

“No defaults, no flaws. Make sure everything works, then we take it on a drive, make sure everything’s shifting okay, quiet. Basically, we’re here for the customer,” Brown explained.

Ford said in a press release that it assembles more vehicles in the U.S. and employs more hourly workers in the U.S. than any other automaker.

Ford told Spectrum News 1 they have around 12,000 employees in the Louisville area. They said they can make up to 100 of the new F-Series trucks every hour.

Brown explained, “As long as these trucks are being sold, it keeps us working. As long as they keep selling them, we gotta job.”

Speaking of jobs, according to Ford, in Kentucky the company supports nearly 120,000 direct and indirect jobs in the state.

Brown says the work he and his co-workers do matters.

“It’s very important, because it’s about family, right?” Brown shared. “Around these plants, we’re all family, take care of each other. So, these trucks, we’re all here on the line. A good truck, we built it here. We’ve got a lot of pride here.”

Brown said he’s got some years left and plans to retire with Ford.

Ford said it’s delivering all Super Duty trim levels to retail and commercial customers now.
