“We’re just here with friends, having fun. Day drinking,” attendee Chas Stephens said.

The event served a locally sourced Kentucky proud brunch and an open bar.

“We have around 300 people under the grand pavilion eating wonderful food from a full plate, having delicious libations and just having a really good time before going to the Derby today,” Kathy Nichols, the Executive Director of the Farmington Historic Plantation, said.

Nichols says the event is a great way to help preserve history and celebrate the Kentucky Derby at the same time.

“You can’t find a more fun morning event before you go to Derby. Come out, have a great breakfast, interact with nice, fun people, see the really pretty Derby hats and Derby outfits out here, and then go to the Downs and have the best day ever.”
