KENTUCKY — The last day to register for Kentucky’s primary election is Monday, April 17 at 4 p.m.
Kentucky has closed primaries. Voters cast ballots for the party they are registered with. Voters can’t change party affiliation for this election because the deadline was Dec. 31 of last year.
To verify your voter status, you can go to a special website set up by the Secretary of State, Michael Adams.
Voters can also register to vote, request absentee ballots and find your polling location. Anyone turning 18 years old on or before Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023 can register now to vote in the Kentucky Primary even if they are 17 years old. The Primary election is May 16.
The website also lists all the candidates who are running for open offices. The statewide races voters will decide in 2023 are Governor, Attorney General, State Treasurer, Secretary of State, Auditor and Agriculture Commissioner.
