LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A second shooting has been reported in downtown Louisville in a separate incident.
The incident took place near Jefferson Community and Technical College, at the 800 block of West Chestnut Street in Louisville.
JCTC reports that the campus has been cleared but the school is currently closed down.
One man was killed and another person was injured and taken to the hospital. Louisville Metro Police reports that the suspect fled on foot, and possibly got into a car and fled the scene.
This was just hours after a shooting at the Old National Bank downtown, but LMPD says the two incidents are unrelated.
According to LMPD, officers responded to a shooting incident around 11 a.m. at 8th Street and Chestnut. Upon arrival, officers located two individuals, both adults, that had been shot outside of this location.
Emergency Medical Services was called to the scene, and pronounced one adult male deceased, while another adult female was transported to University Hospital with injuries that are unknown.
Because of the location, LMPD said they searched the campus of JCTC to make sure the facility was clear of any other possible threats or victims. There are no known suspects at the time.
