“Usually at home, I only use like markers and things like that,” Joyce said.

Joyce was trying out a new medium. She and her friends took the Bob Ross painting class at the Northeast Regional Library in Louisville. The class is one of over 100 offerings scheduled for over spring break.

All classes and supplies are completely free. Kids ages 12-19 learned from a Bob Ross-certified instructor, Ken Wuetcher.

“We hope they are engaged and learn a few things and have a lot of fun and come back and see us,” said Rachel Smith, the library’s branch director.

The library offers a free, safe place for children to develop a love of reading and new skills.
