LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It’s been almost ten years since fans watched Peyton, Russ, Luke and the entire University of Louisville 2012-13 men’s basketball team win in Atlanta.
Saturday, Feb. 18 during the game against Clemson, UofL will honor that historic team at the KFC Yum! Center with the unveiling of a new banner. It will read “2013 Final Coaches Poll #1.”
Players expected to be at the game include Mike Baffour, Logan Baumann, Wayne Blackshear, Jordan Bond, Gorgui Dieng, Luke Hancock, Montrezl Harrell, Tim Henderson, Mike Marra, Zach Price, Peyton Siva, Stephan Van Treese and Kevin Ware. Russ Smith won’t be at the game because he is currently playing basketball in Italy.
They will relive memories from the season during the first half of Saturday’s game leading up to the recognition of the team at halftime. Fans can grab commemorative 2013 posters while supplies last.
The NCAA vacated Louisville's National Championship in 2018 following a sex and prostitution scandal.
Upper-level seats at the Yum! Center are available for $13 as part of a special deal. Fans can buy them online.
As part of the weekend celebration, Siva is also set to throw out the first pitch at Louisville baseball’s season opener against Bucknell Friday, Feb. 17 at Jim Patterson. Game time is set for 3 p.m. Siva, who has been playing basketball overseas, recently moved back to Louisville with his family.
